Meins fing nämlich so an: / Mine began like this:

Am letzten Tag des Jahres 2011 und noch im Urlaub in Mittersill erhielten wir am frühen Vormittag von meiner Mutter die Nachricht, dass mein Vater ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert worden war. DH und ich haben sofort alles gepackt und sind nach Hause gefahren. Unterwegs erfuhren wir, dass es ihm den Umständen entsprechend halbwegs gut geht.

Heute habe ich ihn zusammen mit meiner Mutter besucht und wir haben mit unserer ungewohnten Ausrüstung gescherzt. Alles wird gut.

Die andere gute Nachricht ist, dass meine Tochter ab August eine Ausbildungsstelle hat. Sie wird so wie ihre Mama, nur ohne die ständigen Reisen nach China :-) Liebe Tochter, das hast du glänzend gemacht, ich bin sehr stolz auf dich.

On the morning of the last day of the year 2011 and while still on holidays in Mittersill my mum phoned to say that my dad had been rushed to hospital. DH and I packed our things and went home. We learned on the way that he was doing halfway well under the given circumstances.

Today my mum and I went to visit him and made fun of our unusual outfit. Everything is going to be fine.

The other good news is that my daughter has an apprenticeship beginning in August. She is going to be like her mama, without the constant travels to China :-) Dear daughter, you have done so well and I'm very proud of you.
