Die Krieger von Xi'An / The Warriors of Xi'An

Das war eine sehr beeindruckende Ausstellung, obwohl es an diesem Wochenende sehr voll war. 

Ca. 2000 Figuren sind freigelegt, mehr als 6000 sollen es insgesamt sein.

It was a very impressive exhibition although it was very full that weekend. 

Approx. 2000 figures have been exposed, there are supposed to be more than 6000 in total. 

Historische Stadtmauer von Xi'An / Historical City Wall of Xi'An

Die Altstadt von Xi'An ist von einer ca. 14 km langen und sehr breiten Stadtmauer umgeben. Hier kann Räder mieten und an einer der vielen Radstationen wieder abgeben, man muss also nicht 14 km fahren. Mein chinesischer Kollege und ich haben uns das nicht entgehen lassen und sind am Sonntag einmal rundum gefahren.

The old town of Xi'An is surrounded by an approx. 14 km long and very wide city wall. You can hire bikes and bring them back at any of the many bike stations so that you don't have to cycle all of those 14 km. My Chinese colleague and I didn't want to give up earlier and cycled around the whole old town last Sunday. 

Immer wieder China / China Again

Gestern Abend bin ich aus China zurückgekommen. Es war eine spannende Reise, denn es stand viel Geschäftliches an und wir haben das Wochenende in Xi'An verbracht, wo ich noch nie war. Das ist die Stadt mit der Terracotta Armee, davon werde ich noch berichten.

I came back from China last night. It was an exciting journey as we had a lot of business meetings and we had spent the weekend in Xi'An, where I have never been before. This is the town with the terracotta army, I will write separately about it. 

In Xi'An saßen wir draußen bei Starbucks, als uns eine kleine Gruppe von Kindern (mit ihrer Lehrerin) ansprach, ob sie mit uns ihr Englisch üben dürften. "Mein" Mädchen sprach sehr gut und deutlich.

We were sitting outside at Starbucks when a small group of children (and their teacher) asked us whether they could practice their English with us. "My" girl spoke quite well and clearly.
