Besonderes Ereignis / Important Event

Geplant war es schon länger, es sollte auch länger geheim gehalten werden: meine Freundin Ms. Canada Dry hat am Freitag ihren langjährigen Lebensgefährten geheiratet und bat mich, Trauzeugin zu werden.

Geheiratet wurde standesamtlich in der schönen und alten Kapelle in Wischlingen mit anschließender Segensfeier. Pfarrerin Almut von der St. Petri Kirche in Dortmund hat die Segnung mit sehr persönlichen Worten durchgeführt, zwischendurch hat eine Freundin von der Braut Kontrabass gespielt und ein Dortmunder Lyriker ein Gedicht von Rainer Maria Rilke vorgelesen.

Ich fand die Atmosphäre in dieser kleinen Kapelle besonders schön und die Trauung insgesamt sehr persönlich und emotional.

Abends haben wir mit dem Ehepaar und den Eltern in der Hürsters Kochwerkstatt gegessen. Unbedingt merken für die nächste Geburtstagsfeier.

It had been announced a while ago but was planned to be kept secret for some time: my friend Ms. Canada Dry has married her longtime significant other on Friday and has asked me to be her witness at the marriage ceremony.


The marriage ceremony took place in the beautiful and ancient chapel of Wischlingen, followed by a blessing ceremony. Vicar Almut from the St. Petri church in Dortmund has blessed the couple with very personal words, a friend played contrabass and a lyricist from Dortmund has read a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke.

I was quite impressed with the nice atmosphere in this small chapel and with the personal and emotional ceremony.

In the evening we went out for dinner to a restaurant called Hürsters Kochwerkstatt with the newly wed couple and their parents, a place to be noted for the next birthday party.
