Gänse / Geese

Heute sind bei uns Kommunalwahlen und ich habe die Gelegenheit genutzt, zu Fuß zum Wahllokal und einmal "um den Block" zu gehen. Auf dem Weg nach Hause kam ich an einem Bauernhof vorbei und auf der Wiese schnatterten ganz viele Gänse (ja, wir haben es teilweise sehr ländlich, obwohl unweit der Stadt). Sofort habe ich an den nächsten Gänsebraten gedacht und mir vorgenommen, im November / Dezember öfter mal eine Gans in den Ofen zu schieben. Früher habe ich mich immer auf die Kochkünste meiner Mutter verlassen, mittlerweile habe ich schon ein paar mal eine Gans gebraten und es ist immer gut gelungen.

Und die Moral von der Geschicht: gehe niemals ohne Fotoapparat aus dem Haus.

We have local elections today and I took the opportunity and walked to the polls and "around the block". On my way home I passed a farm and some geese were cackling on the meadows (yes, it is partially quite rural although not far from the city). This made me think about the next goose roast and I have decided to give it a go in November / December. In the past, I used to rely on my mother's cooking skills but in the meantime I've roasted a goose myself for a few times and it always came out well.

And the morale of the story: never leave the camera at home.
